The kidney of patients with renal atrophy is smaller than the normal kidney,the kidney disease with long time can cause nephron damage,especially glomerular damage, it can make the volume of kidney decrease.

Renal atrophy is the same with other kidney disease, the dietary control of renal atrophy is very important, considering the age of patient with renal atrophy and metabolism of the body, patients should treat according to the illness,renal atrophy and renal function supply each other, when patients appear renal atrophy,they can appear renal insufficiency,renal failure and uremia.

Chronic renal atrophy is the performance of renal damage for patients with kidney disease, patients with chronic renal failure can have renal function damage or renal insufficiency or uremia. Patients with chronic renal failure should have timely treatment, stop the kidney to shrink. Patients with renal failure should pay attention to the daily diet to cooperate with the recovery of illness.

1、The choice of cooked wheaten food:Patents with renal atrophy can eat proper cooked wheaten food, bur they should not eat hard cooked wheaten food and they should not eat more.

The intake of protein: Patients can eat meat, they should not eat beef. They should limit the intake of protein, they can drink milk and eat meat which can contain more essential amino acids to supply the need of body.

3、The intake of fat:the fat should be considered to use the food with much monounsaturated fatty acid like plant oil.

4、The diet of high heat: The diet of high heat can decrease the protein synthesis, they can eat more sweet potatoes, taro, potato, apple, lotus root starch, etc, the products should contain vitamin B and vitamin C and folic acid.

5、The intake of water electrolyte and other substance: Patients with renal atrophy should limit the intake of water and salt to avoid aggravating the renal burden to cause edema. They should avoid eating food containing high potassium such as banana, dry fruits, beef, pork, sardines, bean sauce, lettuce and wheat. Patients should eat more dark green vegetables. Patients have uncomfortable condition, they should go to hospital to check at once.
