What fruits are good for nephritic syndrome patients?

What fruits are good for nephritic syndrome patients? It depends on the specific condition.

First, nephritis patients with hypertension or arteriosclerosis may eat hawthorn, dates, oranges; these are rich in vitamin C, can lowering blood pressure, relieve vascular sclerosis.

Second, nephritis patients accompanied by heart failure and edema should not eat those fruits containing much water; such as watermelon, pear, pineapple and so on, because a lot of water will cause heart failure, edema, exacerbations.

Third, acute nephritis patients can not eat some certain fruits. Some patients with kidney dysfunction or swelling need to avoid salt; they should not eat bananas. Because bananas contain much sodium salt, can increase swelling, increase the burden on the heart and kidneys.

Fourth, nephritis patients accompanied with fever can eat fruits that have function of Shengjinzhike, antipyretic poison; these fruits include pear and orange. Because fever patients sweat much. Pears and oranges contain plenty of water and potassium. They are good for fever patients.

Fifth, nephritis patients with respiratory tract infection especially accompanied by a sore throat, cough, sputum should eat pear, loquat, orange, grapefruit, apricot, jeffrey. These fruits can reduce phlegm, moister lung and relieve cough.

Sixth, nephritis patients belonging to hot body type should eat pears, bananas, watermelon and other cold character fruits; they should not eat grapes, oranges, dates, cherry which are warm character.
