Nephrotic syndrome patients with gastrointestinal mucosa edema and ascites, affect digestive absorption. Patients should take the food is easy to digestive、light and semifluid. (1)、The intake of sodium salt: patients with edema should take lower salt diet to prevent aggravating edema, as usual everyday salt intake should not surpass 2g, avoid eating pickled food, take less of monosodium glutamate and fresh soda, when the edema faded away、plasma is near to normal, patients could recovery normal diet.

(2)、The intake of protein: patients with nephrotic syndrome, a large number plasma protein discharged from urine, the decreasing of protein caused the body is in the state of protein malnutrition, hypoproteinemia cause the declining of plasma colloid osmotic pressure, give rise to the edema is hard to fade away, body resistance also decreased, so without renal failure, in early and acme stage should offer high quality protein diet, such as fish and meat. It is good for relieve hypoproteinemia and some complications.

But high protein diet could elevate renal blood flow and glomerular filtration rate, glomerular capillary is in high pressure state, at the same time taking much protein will also increase urine protein, and accelerate the sclerosis of glomerular. So, for nephrotic syndrome patients who are in the stage of chronic and non-acme should take less high-quality protein, having chronic renal damage should provide lower protein diet.

(3)、The intake of fat: nephrotic syndrome patients always have hyperlipidemia, it could cause arteriosclerosis and the injury and sclerosis of glomerular, so should limit the food intake with enrich cholesterol and fat such as animal offal、fat meat、some sea food and etc.

(4)、Supplement microelement: due to nephrotic syndrome patients the permeability of glomerular basement membrane increased, in urine except for losing much protein, at the same time lost some microelement and hormone which is combined with protein, cause lack of calcium、magnesium、zinc、iron and etc, should provide properly. As usual take vegetable、fruit、coarse cereal、sea food with vitamin and some microelements to supplement.
