Aspirin is one of the basic drugs for primary and two prevention of cardiovascular diseases, and hundreds of millions of patients are taking small doses of aspirin. The adverse effects of aspirin on digestive tract are clear, with a high incidence of gastric bleeding and perforation and even fatal. Therefore, long-term use of low-dose aspirin patients, we must bear in mind the following precautions.

1. The dose should not be too small or too large

The study found that administration of 50 mg of aspirin, the aggregation of platelets began to be inhibited, when the dose reached 75mg, the platelet aggregation was completely inhibited, <50 mg of aspirin basically no effect.

Therefore, the general recommended therapeutic dose in patients with cardiocerebrovascular diseases was 75 ~ 325mg, the commonly used dose of 100 mg, with 1 single. The dosage is too small, or taken several times apart, can not achieve the purpose of treatment.

2. Take the medicine according to the instructions

Different manufacturers of aspirin production process is different, there are differences in usage, so the specific medication should be based on instructions (see table below). However, many manufacturers of the manual did not clear the time to take, and how to do?

Advice: take it before meals. Aspirin enteric coating is acid resistant and non alkali resistant. Aspirin Enteric-coated Tablets (or enteric coated capsule) is taken before meals. The enteric coating is difficult to dissolve and the gastric emptying rate is fast. It can reduce the damage of aspirin to gastric mucosa.

Special reminder: when before meals appear serious gastrointestinal reactions, is the use of proton pump inhibitors in prevention of gastrointestinal adverse reaction, two is the replacement of other brands of aspirin, three can be adjusted to take aspirin after meals.
