As people pay more attention to the level of health, hydronephrosis gradually enters everyone's line of vision. Hydronephrosis patients not only to choose the right treatment, but also concerned about the diet, the diet for patients with hydronephrosis is very important. Next let’s take a look at the points of the diet of patients with hydronephrosis.

Diet points in patients with hydronephrosis

1. Patients with hydronephrosis should limit the daily intake of salt and water. Limit salt intake is mainly for patients with edema and hypertension, because without limitation of salt intake can increase burden on the kidney, increase water and sodium retention, so that edema is difficult to be subsided, but also cause high blood pressure. If it is unilateral hydronephrosis, do not need to limit the intake of water, if it’s bilateral hydronephrosis with renal dysfunction, patients need to limit the daily intake of water. For hydronephrosis patients without edema or high blood pressure don’t have to limit the salt intake, the daily salt intake can be the same as normal people.

2. Patients with hydronephrosis should also increase the energy intake. Increasing energy intake does not mean that you can eat too much protein-rich foods. The energy intake of patients with hydronephrosis mainly rely on carbohydrates and fatty foods, reducing protein intake can reduce the blood of nitrogen retention, reduce the burden on the kidneys, thereby delaying the process of chronic renal failure.

3. Hydronephrosis patients can not eat foods rich in oxalates. Foods rich in oxalates include beans, beets, celery, chocolate, grapes, green peppers, parsley, spinach, strawberries and cabbage vegetables. Also should avoid alcohol, caffeine, tea, chocolate, pulled figs, mutton, dried fruit, green peppers, black tea, poppy and so on.

4. Hydronephrosis patients should avoid high cholesterol foods in daily life. High cholesterol diet such as animal organs, squid, fat meat, fish, cuttlefish and so on.
